ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University's Kiera Lampkins recorded a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Bobcats to a 64-46 victory over Duquesne on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio. Lampkins scored 17 of her game-high point total in the 1st half.
OU (6-0) led for all but 1:17 to hand the Dukes (4-5) their third consecutive loss.
Kadri-Ann Lass led all Duquesne scorers with 10 points. Lass, Halle Bovell and Angela Staffileno all pulled down six rebounds.
FIRST QUARTER
After the Dukes took an early 3-2 lead, Ohio rattled off 11 straight points forcing a Duquesne timeout at the 6-minute mark. Omogrosso's jumper at 5:37 ended a 2:52 scoreless drought and started an 8-2 run to get Duquesne within four points at 15-11 at 2:36. Lampkins closed out the quarter with a pair of foul shots, making the score 17-11.
SECOND QUARTER
Ohio opened up the quarter by scoring the first five points and doubled up Duquesne 22-11. The Dukes responded with a 15-3 run over 4:11 with Richardson's layup at 4:18 briefly giving the Dukes the lead at 26-25. The bobcats would regain the lead on their next possession and take a 34-28 advantage into halftime.
THIRD QUARTER
OU outscored Duquesne 22-6 in the quarter and saw a lead as high as 25 points at 56-31 with 1:39 left.
FOURTH QUARTER
Duquesne won the quarter 12-8 with Anie-Pier Samson scoring a pair of field goals - the first of her career.
