PITTSBURGH - Duquesne head volleyball coach Steve Opperman has announced the signings of Claire Boe, Dani Suiter, Kaitlyn Knurek and Liz Wayne to National Letters of Intent.


Boe is a 5-8 setter from Bloomington, Ill. She played at Central Catholic High School where she led the Saints to a 35-5 record while serving a team captain her senior season. Boe helped Central Catholic win the 2015 Intercity Tournament, where she finished the 4-match event with 62 assists and seven aces. A three year letterwinner, Boe has been named Corn Belt Conference All-Star three times including to the First-Team as a senior. She was also a named to the 2015 Champaign Centennial All-Tournament Team. Bow also had the opportunity to play overseas with Bring It Promotion's New Year's Bash, which toured Spain and Portugal for 10 days.

At the club level, Boe played for the Illini Elite Volleyball Club. The team captain led the team to the Lakeshore Volleyfest championship and third place at the JVA World Classic. For the year, Boe hit .692 and averaged 4.34 assists and 1.97 digs per match. Her Illini Elite team went 36-17.

Boe's sister, Meredith, played for rival A-10 school Saint Louis from 2012-15.

Boe plans on majoring in physical therapy.


Claire Boe



Knurek is a 6-0 outside hitter from South River, N.J. She played at Bishop George Ahr High School
where she led the Trojans to their best record in six years and appearances in the Greater Middlesex Conference and New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association tournaments. A three year letterwinner and a two-time GMC All-White Division and All-Conference, Knurek set Bishop Ahr's single-season record for most kills in one season with 145.

At the club level, Knurek played for the Central Jersey Volleyball Academy. Her time with CJVA was highlighted by a first place finish in their bracket at the 2015 nationals in New Orleans.

Knurek plans on majoring in pharmacy.






Suiter is a 6-0 setter from Valparaiso, Ind. She played for Valparaiso High
School where she led the Vikings to back-to-back-to-back Duneland championships. In her three years as a varsity starter, Suiter led Valparaiso to a 90-9 record. The Vikings were nationally ranked in 2015 after posting a 33-1 overall record which included a perfect 14-0 conference mark.

A member of Sports Performance Volleyball Club, Suiter captained the team to the championship game of the AAU National Premier tournament.

The vice president of the Health Occupations Students of America, Suiter plans on majoring in nursing.





Wayne is a 6-0 middle hitter from Colorado Springs, Colo. She played for Cheyenne Mountain High School where she led Indians to a 97-14 record in her four-years -- including a 27-1 record as a senior. Cheyenne Mountain was the 2015 Pikes Peak Athletic Conference champions and Regional champions. The season was capped by winning the 2015 Colorado 4A State Championship and #1 ranking in the state. The Indians were ranked #29 in the country in the MaxPreps Xcellent 50 Final Rankings Poll.

A three year letterwinner, Wayne finished her senior season with a career-high 213 kills and .418
hitting percentage. A 2015 First-Team All-Conference selection, Wayne was also named to the Colorado Springs Gazette Big Schools All-Area Volleyball Team, the 2015 CCGS All-State Team and 2015 CHSAA 4A All-State First Team.

A member of the Colorado Juniors, Wayne led the team to the 2015 USA Division Champion of National Qualifier, Colorado X-roads and the JNC National Qualifier -- USA Division.

An Academic All-State Honorable Mention, Wayne plans on majoring in sports marketing.
