DUBLIN, IRELAND -
L.G. Gill scored 11 of his 16 points in the first half as Duquesne put the clamps on defensively in a 95-57 win over Templeogue Basketball Club of Dublin in the third of four games on the Dukes' Ireland Tour.
Gill added a game-high 8 rebounds in a little over two quarters of action for the Dukes who moved to 3-0 on the tour.
Mar'Qwell Jackson scored 12 points - all on 3-pointers - and TySean Powell and Eric James had 10 points each all off the bench.
Starters Derrick Colter and Jeremiah Jones added 7 points and 5 steals and 7 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists respectively.
Josh Steel and Nick Foschia had 8 points apiece off the bench.
The game, played before a capacity crowd at Oblate Hall, was a nip-and-tuck affair early, with neither team leading by more than six in a first quarter that featured eight lead changes.
DU opened the second quarter with back-to-back buckets by Gill and Colter before Jones buried a 3-pointer from the corner to make it 27-19.
Duquesne took its first double-digit lead on a Rene Castro jumper that made it 31-21. A Steel layup gave DU a 37-24 lead with four minutes left in the half.
The Dukes limited Templeogue to two field goals in the second quarter in building a 47-28 halftime lead.
Gill had 11 points and 5 rebounds at the half.
Gill scored five of the first seven points of the second half as DU took a 54-28 lead.
Duquesne led 58-33 when TySean Powell swooped in from the left side and was fouled on a dunk with 3:44 left.
The Dukes emptied the bench shortly thereafter.
Jackson hit three 3-pointers in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter to make it 83-48.
The Dukes play their fourth and final game of their Ireland Tour tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. (2:30 p.m. ET) against KUBS at KUBS Arena in Dublin.

All games on the tour are being played under FIBA rules including four 10-minute quarters, a 24-second shot clock, 22-1.7" 3-point arc.
