CSKA Moscow Release | Jackson career recap
PITTSBURGH - Aaron Jackson (2006-09) and Kieron Achara (2004-08), who played side-by-side for the Dukes for three seasons, both reached agreements to continue their highly-successful overseas playing careers on the same day - June 19.
Jackson, a first team All-Atlantic 10 pick in 2009, signed a two-year deal with CSKA Moscow, while Achara, the first Duquesne player to earn a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Defense Team in 2007, inked a two-year contract with the Glasgow Rocks in his home country of Scotland.
Jackson, who played in Turkey, Italy and Spain before signing with CSKA in June of 2012, helped CSKA to its second-straight VTB United League championship in 2015.
Achara's path back to his home country began with overseas stints in Italy, Greece, Bulgaria and Spain. The Stirling native represented Great Britain in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Achara (2005) and Jackson (2009) are the only players in school history to win the Atlantic 10 Chris Daniels Award which is presented annually to the conference's most improved player.
