Duquesne's lacrosse team traveled to Ann Arbor, Mich. for its Easter break and came home with an 11-10 victory over the host Michigan Wolverines. Clare Hurley led the Dukes with three goals, but it was Kaelin Shaw's goal with 4:47 remaining that gave the Dukes the win.
The Red and Blue trailed 10-8 with 14:57 left in the contest, but scored the final three goals to secure the victory.
In a tightly contested battle where no team led by more than two goals, Shaw assisted on a Jill Vacanti goal with 12:46 left to make it 10-9. DU then found the back of the net with 9:22 remaining on an unassisted score by Hurley to knot the score at 10-10.
Shaw then took a pass from Lib Lowry at the 4:47 mark to end the game's scoring and capture the victory.
Shaw had two goals as did Amanda Kidder and Michelle Morris while adding two assists. Melissa Hanson added four ground balls and Meredith Micho chipped in four draw controls. Jenna Bishop was stellar in goal making 10 saves.
The Dukes return to action on Friday, April 10 as they host Saint Joseph's at 4:00 in their home Atlantic 10 opener on Rooney Field.
