THE SERIES

• This is the second meeting between Duquesne and first-year Atlantic 10 member Davidson ... the Wildcats won at Belk Arena, 95-69 on Feb. 7.
• Davidson, picked to finish 12th in the A-10 preseason poll, can clinch at least a share of the Atlantic 10 regular season title and No. 1 overall seed at the Atlantic 10 Championship (March 11-15 at Barclays Center, Brooklyn, N.Y.) with a win.

ON THE WILDCATS
Davidson, the hottest team in the Atlantic 10, began its current eight-game winning streak with a 95-69 victory over Duquesne on Feb. 7 ... three of the Wildcats' six losses have come to ranked teams ... Davidson, the highest scoring team in the conference at 79.6 ppg., is coming off an 82-55 win over VCU on Thursday night ... Davidson, which jumped out to a 14-2 lead, never trailed ... Tyler Kalinoski led five players in double figures with 22 points ... the `Cats limited the Rams to 1-of-15 shooting from 3-point ... Jordan Barham posted a 14-14 double-double for the Wildcats ... the Wildcats are the most balanced team in the conference with four players averaging in double digits led by senior guard Tyler Kalinoski (16.4 ppg.) ... seven players have scored 20 or more in a game ... Davidson, which has hit at least one 3-pointer in 666 consecutive games (dating back to Jan. 15, 1994), is averaging 10.6 3-pointers/g, which ranks second nationally ... the Wildcats have three players with over 100 assists in just 28 games (Kalinoski with 112, Brian Sullivan with 104 and Jack Gibbs with 103) ... Davidson leads the A-10 in scoring (79.6), scoring margin (+11.8), field goal (.470), 3-point (.394) and free throw pct. (.724), defensive rebounds (25.9), assists (16.8), assist/turnover ratio (1.7) and 3-pointers made (10.7) ... the `Cats are also second in 3-point field goal pct. defense (.286) ... the Wildcats shot 50.9 percent in dismantling VCU on Thursday ... Davidson is coached by Bob McKillop who is in his 26th season (all with the Wildcats) ... he is the seventh-longest tenured coach in the country ... he has led Davidson to 20 or more wins in 21 of his first 25 seasons.


THE DUKES

• Duquesne (11-17, 6-11), winner of three of its past four - and last four at home - concludes the regular season vs. Davidson (22-6, 13-4) on Sat., Mar. 7 at 7:00 p.m. (American Sports Network). The Dukes, who haven't lost at home since Jan. 22, are 9-6 in Pittsburgh. First-year Atlantic 10 member Davidson, which is making its first visit to DU, is 8-4 (5-3 in A-10) on the road. This is the second game of a home-and-home series. Davidson won the first meeting, 95-69, at Belk Arena on Feb. 7. DU has split with three of its first four A-10 home-and-home opponents, turning three road losses into double-digit home wins.
• Duquesne can finish no higher than 10th nor no worse than 11th in the A-10. The Dukes need a win and a Saint Joseph's (13-16, 7-10) loss at Rhode Island (2:00 p.m.) to claim the No. 10 seed. The 11th through 14th place finishers open the Atlantic 10 Championship (March 11-15 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.) on Wednesday, March 11. Seeds 5-10 begin play on Thursday, while the top four finishers have a bye until Friday.
• Three of DU's A-10 home games have come down to the last possession: a 71-68 win over Saint Joseph's, a 61-60 loss to Rhode Island and a 100-97 OT loss to St. Bonaventure (the Dukes led Rhody by 13 and the Bonnies by 15 in the second half). In addition, DU had the ball down two with under two minutes left in a 70-64 "home" loss to No. 17 (AP) VCU at CONSOL Energy Center on Jan. 17. The Dukes were also tied with UMass with under three minutes left at Mullins Center on Feb. 14.

LEFTOVERS FROM FORDHAM
Leftovers from Duquesne's 81-66 win at Fordham on Wednesday: the win, DU's third in four game, snapped a 10-game road losing streak ... Fordham, which had won its three previous home games - all by double-digit margins - led by 12 with under five minutes left in the first half before the Dukes stormed back to outscore the Rams 18-3 over the final 4:51 to take a 38-35 halftime lead ... DU hit five 3-pointers in the first 9:01 of the second half to take a 16-point lead ... Fordham briefly cut it to nine before Derrick Colter converted a three-point play with 2:11 left to give Duquesne a double-digit lead it maintained the rest of the way ... Colter, Micah Mason, Dominique McKoy and L.G. Gill (four 3-pointers) had 16 points each for DU ... Jeremiah Jones was the fifth player in double figures with 13 ... Colter added 7 assists ... the 12-point comeback tied the third-best under Jim Ferry ... it was also the largest margin of victory in an A-10 road game by a Ferry-coached Dukes team ... DU outscored Fordham 17-2 off turnovers and committed a season-low eight fouls ... Duquesne was 19-of-25 from the foul line, including 17-of-21 in the second half ... Fordham went 6-of-31 from 3-point against DU's 2-3 zone ... DU went 10-of-22 from the arc.
