THE SERIES

• This is the 74th meeting in a series that dates to Jan. 21, 1932 ... GW leads the series 46-27, including a 40-22 lead in Atlantic 10 regular season games ... in games played at Pittsburgh, Duquesne leads 18-17 ... DU has won three of the past four meetings at Palumbo Center. • Duquesne saw a four-game series win streak snapped in its 2012 trip to George Washington (a 56-51 loss) ... the four-game streak was the Dukes' longest in the series since 1989-90 ... GW won 26 of 31 games prior to DU's four-game streak ... the Colonials have won the past four meetings overall, including a 74-59 victory at Smith Center on Jan. 24.
• DU has scored 51, 57, 57 & 59 points in four games against Mike Longeran-coached GW teams ... DU coach Jim Ferry is 0-3 against GW.

ON THE COLONIALS
GW, picked to finish 2nd in the A-10 preseason poll, has received votes in multiple AP polls this season ... the Colonials are 3-6 on the road with A-10 wins at Saint Joseph's (64-60) and at Fordham (79-59) ... only four schools have scored 70 or more against GW this season (Charlotte in a 78-70 loss, Saint Louis in a 75-72 loss, Richmond in a 73-70 2OT loss and VCU in a 72-48 win) ... GW is led by the junior foursome of 6-1 G Joe McDonald (10.1, 5.7), 6-3 G Kethan Savage (12.0, 5.2), 6-6 G Patricio Garino (13.2, 5.4) and 6-10 F Kevin Larsen (10.7, 7.3) ... the Colonials boast one of the top freshmen in the A-10 in 6-8, 20-year-old, Kagawa, Japan native Yuta Watanabe (7.1, 3.5, 20 3-pointers) who was dubbed "the Chosen One" by his hometown Japan Times in 2013.


THE DUKES

• Duquesne (7-14, 2-8) returns home to face George Washington (17-6, 7-3) on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7:00 p.m. (A-10 Network / PCNC locally). This is the second meeting between the two. GW won the first match-up, 74-59, on Jan. 24 at Washington, D.C.
• George Washington is 3-6 on the road, including a 2-3 mark in A-10 games. The Colonials have lost their last two road games (72-48 at VCU and 59-55 at Rhode Island). DU is 6-6 at home (6-5 at Palumbo Center).
• DU is outscoring A-10 opponents by +0.4 ppg. at home (70.8-70.4, 2-3 record), and has been outscored by 21.4 ppg. in conference road games (61.4-82.8, 0-5 record). The Dukes have played schools with four of the six best home winning percentages in the A-10 already in Dayton (12-0), George Washington (10-0), Richmond (10-3) and Davidson (10-2) who began the week a combined 42-5 at home.
• Three of DU's five A-10 home games have come down to the last possession - a 71-68 win over Saint Joseph's, a 61-60 loss to Rhode Island and a 100-97 OT loss to St. Bonaventure (the Dukes led Rhody by 13 and the Bonnies by 15 in the second half). In addition, DU had the ball down two with under two minutes left in a 70-64 "home" loss to No. 17 (AP) VCU at CONSOL Energy Center on Jan. 17.

LEFTOVERS FROM DAVIDSON
Leftovers from Duquesne's 95-69 loss at Davidson on Saturday: the defeat extended DU's road losing streak to seven games ... Davidson set Jim Ferry Era opponent highs for first half points (tied the previous mark of 52) and field goals (38) ... the Wildcats hit eight 3-pointers in jumping out to a 52-38 halftime lead ... Davidson, which finished 13-of-26 from the arc, shot a DU 2014-15 opponent high 60.3 percent for the game ... L.G. Gill came off the bench to lead four double-digit Dukes scorers with 13 points (3-of-5 from 3-point) ... the other three double-digit scorers were all forwards: Dominique McKoy (12), Jeremiah Jones (11) and TySean Powell (11) ... it was just the third time this season that a forward led the Dukes in scoring outright ... DU's three leading scorers, guards Derrick Colter (12.4 ppg.), Micah Mason (10.4 ppg.) and Jordan Stevens (8.9 ppg.) scored a combined 17 points on 7-of-24 shooting (.292) ... Duquesne finished at 45.2 percent, including 6-of-22 from 3-point ... Davidson outscored DU 15-4 off turnovers ... the Wildcats finished with 22 assists and seven turnovers ... the Dukes had 14 assists and 13 turnovers.

This is Duquesne's best 3-point shooing team (.366) since 2003 (.366) ... the 2015 Dukes have a shot at challenging the school record of .375 set in 1990 ... despite its 7-14 record, Duquesne has been outscored by an average of just 3.0 points per game ... in conference play, DU is averaging 70.8 ppg. at home and 61.4 on the road ... the Dukes are outscoring A-10 opponents by +0.4 ppg. at home and are being outscored by 21.4 ppg. on the road ...
