Duquesne's swimming team equaled its highest finish in school history by placing third of 11 teams at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship. The only other previous third place finishes for DU were in 2008 and 2009.
As a result, head Coach David Sheets was named the 2015 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year for the performance his team turned in.
The evening opened with Taylor Kane grabbing seven team points with a 10th place finish of 17:13.18 in the 1,650 free.
Freshman Lexi Santer then turned in a school record performance of 2:00.10 in a second place showing in the 200 back with Abby Watson following in fourth in 2:00.35, Morgan Fink placing sixth in 2:01.75 and Catherine McAllister finishing 16th in 2:04.76.
In the 100 freestyle, Samantha Ray finished fourth in a school record time of 50.51 while Gabrielle Sibilia placed 16th in 52.22.
The Dukes took the podium again in the 200 breaststroke as Kayla Owens took third with a time of 2:16.32. Laura Murphy followed in 10th with a time of 2:19.89.
The individual action wrapped up with Line Lovberg placing fifth in the 200 butterfly in 2:02.64 and Kylie Dickman placing 11th in 2:04.70.
The season concluded with the 400 free relay team of Samantha Ray, Kayla Owens, Gabrielle Sibilia and Claire Nobles claiming the silver medal with a school record time of 3:24.11.
In all, the Dukes broke all five school relay records at the event and set or tied five new individual school standards.
