QUICK NOTES

• Duquesne bounced back from its first loss of the season to defeat Milwaukee, 96-92 in overtime on Tuesday. The Dukes trailed by four with 1:25 left before closing the game with an 8-0 run. Micah Mason, who finished with 26 points, scored four in the final 43 seconds, including the go-ahead layup. Eric James, who came off the bench to score 15 points, had two big steals in the final 52 seconds. Derrick Colter scored a career-high 27 points before fouling out with 2:36 left in OT. DU shot a Jim Ferry Era-best .648, including 10-of-18 from 3-point. The winner of the DU/WKU game will win the consolation side of the Gulf Coast Showcase bracket.

• Western Kentucky (3-2) is coming off an impressive 88-60 win over Central Michigan on Tuesday afternoon. The Hilltoppers got 16 points from Fredrick Edmond and 13 from Justin Johnson in the win. WKU held Central Michigan to .307 shooting, including 10-of-41 from 3-point. The Hilltoppers, who led 36-19 at the half, shot .525 (10-of-20 from 3-point).

• This is the first meeting between DU and WKU since a 74-64 Duquesne win on Dec. 8, 1997 at Palumbo Center. Duquesne leads the overall series 7-2, including a 2-0 advantage in neutral-site games. The Dukes defeated the `Toppers and legendary coach E.A. Diddle in the 1940 NCAA Eastern Regional at Hinkle Field House in Indianapolis by a 30-29 score. On Mar. 10, 1953, No. 11 DU defeated No. 9 WKU, 69-61, in an NIT second round game at Madison Square Garden.
