QUICK RECAP: Fredrik Borenstein scored off a pass from Thor Beckdahl in the second overtime to give Duquesne a 3-2 win over previously undefeated Bowling Green in the final game of the Duquesne Invitational. Borenstein's goal, which came in the 105th minute, gave the Dukes the Invitational title and clinched MVP honors for the DU freshman. Duquesne, which led 2-0 after goals by Kadeem Pantophlet (32') and Dorian Kouame (56'), saw Bowling Green score a pair of unanswered goals - including a penalty kick by Danny Baraldi to tie it in the 88th minute. The two teams battled through a scoreless first overtime before Beckdahl weaved through the Bowling Green defense and found Borenstein who buried the game-winner. Pantophlet, who was named to the all-tournament team along with Borenstein and defenders Mamadou Traore and Nick DiSomma, opened the scoring with a quick strike off a rebound. Kouame scored on a free kick from 25 yards out to make it 2-0 at the half. Max Auden scored for BGSU in the 61st minute to make it a one-goal game. The one-goal lead lasted until Duquesne was whistled for a hand ball in the box, setting up Baralti's game-tying PK. The shots were nearly even with Bowling Green posting 14 to 13 for Duquesne. The Dukes had one more corner kick than the Falcons (4-3). Duquesne, which is now 12-2-2 all-time in the Duquesne Invitational, now leads the series with BGSU 2-1-1.

FROM COACH BROOKS: "That's Division I soccer, it is about finding ways to win, even if it isn't pretty and that's what it was today. We've got to learn from our mistakes moving forward. We can't let teams back in. We've got to learn to put teams away. I think that's the next step toward winning a championship - finding a way to get out of there without making it so close. I'm proud of the guys, proud of the work rate. No matter who we put out on the field today, they got the job done."
