Dukes Win Sixth Straight, Down The Mount, 18-5

Duquesne's lacrosse team won its sixth straight contest with an 18-5 victory over visiting Mount St. Mary's Sunday afternoon at a chilly Rooney Field.

The contest was still within reach for The Mount at the 11:35 mark of the first half with a score of 6-3, before the Dukes scored the final five goals of the first half and the first six of the second half.

Caitlin Prince led the Dukes with five goals, followed by Amanda Kidder with three goals and two assists and Haley Marafioti with three goals and one assist. Seven other Dukes had one goal each.

Morgan Matz led the Red and Blue with three assists, Casey Briglia and Clare Hurley shared the team lead with three ground balls each, Hurley was tops with four draw controls and Kidder and Marafioti had three caused turnovers apiece.

Kristen Gregory got the win in goal, making five saves as every non-injured player on the roster played in the game. The Dukes return to action on Tuesday, March 25 as they host Bucknell at 5:00 pm on Rooney Field.
