Dec. 9, 2014 LEXINGTON, Ky. - Arielle Love has been named to the 14-person AVCA Division I Midwest All-Region Team. The senior led all 18 middle blocker candidates with 22 votes in the Midwest Region, which covers 40 teams from the Atlantic 10, Big 12, Big, Sky, MAC, Missouri Valley, Ohio Valley, Summit, and WAC.
Love finished the regular season hitting .432 with 354 kills (3.51/set). She added 122 blocks (1.21/set), 29 solo. In conference play, she hit an incredible .497. A three-time A-10 Player of the Week, she was Duquesne's first-ever AVCA National Player of the Week as well as the ECAC Player of the Week as well as the ECAC in October. In addition to being named to the 2014 First-Team All-Conference, she was named to the league's All-Academic team. After tallying 21 kills and 10 blocks for in last year's A-10 Championship, Love was named Most Outstanding Player for the event.
This is Love's second AVCA honor. In 2012, she was named Northeast Region Honorable Mention.
