Duquesne University freshman Kayla Owens (Youngstown, Pa./Greater Latrobe) was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 23. It is her second Rookie of the Week honor this season.

Owens won the 100-yard breaststroke at the Cleveland State Invitational with a school and meet record time of 1:02.94 while also winning the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:15.71. In addition, she finished first in the 200-yard individual medley, qualifying for the U.S. Winter Nationals with a time of 2:03.15.

Winter Nationals will be held Dec. 4-6 in Greensboro, N.C.
