Nov. 20, 2014 NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Three members of the Duquesne volleyball team have been named Atlantic 10 All-Conference as announced by the league offices today.
Senior Arielle Love was named First-Team All-Conference. The middle hitter leads the A-10 in hitting percentage (.432), third in blocks with 1.21/set and is fourth in kills with 354. A three-time A-10 Player of the Week, Love becomes the first player in program history to be named First-Team All-Conference three straight years.
Freshman Molly Davet was named to the All-Rookie team. The outside hitter finished the season third on the Dukes with 213 kills (2.20/set) and fourth with 234 digs (2.41/set).
Love and senior libero Patti Abshire were named to All-Academic Team. Love, who graduated in August with a GPA of 3.68 is pursuing her MBA in sustainability. Abshire, who became Duquesne all-time leader in digs earlier this season, finished the season eighth in the A-10 with 327 digs (3.24/set). An accounting major, Abshire has a GPA of 3.92.
Duquesne (16-11, 9-5 A-10), the #6 seed, will take on #3 seed Saint Louis (20-9, 9-5 A-10) tomorrow evening in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship. Match time is at 7:00 p.m.
