PITTSBURGH - Duquesne head coach Dan Burt has announced the addition of Kaitlyn Eagle to the women's basketball team. Eagle joins the Dukes after serving as student manager last season.

"Kaitlyn came to us early in the season and asked about joining the team," said Burt. "I know she has a hard-working personality and that - coupled with her basketball skills - will make her a valuable member of the program. As a former walk-on, I like to see students with an outstanding work ethic like Kaitlyn be proactive and willing to sacrifice the time and effort it takes to be a student-athlete."

Eagle was a four-year varsity player and senior captain at Seneca Valley High School. She led the Raiders' resurgence by helping the team improve from two wins her freshman season to 14 her junior year. The 14 wins by SV was tied for ninth best in WPIAL AAAA. A stellar student, Eagle graduated with highest honors.

A physician assistant major at Duquesne, Eagle is an officer in Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. She is the representative for the sophomore class in PASA (Physician Assistant Student Association). This past summer, Eagle studied abroad in Uganda and Tanzania. She serves as president of the Duquesne chapter of AFJN (Africa Faith and Justice Network) which is a community of advocates who help raise money for issues in Africa. She has been a member of the Dean's List in both the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters.
