GAME INFORMATION
The Duquesne volleyball team starts its 28th season as a Division I program on Friday night when they host Central Michigan at 7:00 p.m. at the Palumbo Center. Admission is free. This is the first of three matches in the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational. The Dukes will also host Xavier on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. before traveling to Moon Township to play Robert Morris at 7:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE DUKES
Head coach Steve Opperman is in his 16th season as the Dukes' coach and is coming off a 22-win season in 2012. DU returns four starters - Arielle Love, Mary Henry, Marah Farage and Allison Foschia and the libero - Patti Abshire.
THE SERIES
The Dukes and Chippewas have met only one, a 3-0 CMU win at the Cincinnati Tournament in 1990. Xavier, a former member of the A-10, holds a 29-5 edge over the Dukes. Duquesne is 26-8 all-time over RMU
UP NEXT
Duquesne travels to Blacksburg, Va. for the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech. The Dukes will also play William & Mary and Lipscomb.
