PITTSBURGH - Former Duke Aaron Jackson scored a team-high 17 points to lead Bizkaia Bilbao to an 80-72 win over Real Madrid on Thursday night. With the win, Bilbao advances to the ACB Playoff Final for the first time in franchise history where it will face regular-season champion Regal FC Barcelona in the best-of-five Final.
Bilbao, which finished sixth of 18 teams in the regular season, dispatched second-place Real Madrid in four games. Jackson, in his first season in the ACB, averaged 11.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the series that saw the men in black rally from a series-opening defeat to win three in a row. Jackson was 4-of-5 from the field and 6-of-6 from the foul line in the series clincher.
The Finals, which are also best-of-five, are scheduled for June 9, 11, 14, 16, 18. The series follows a 2-2-1 format with the first two games in Barcelona, the next two in Bilbao and the fifth - if necessary - back in Barcelona.
