Duquesne's lacrosse team improved to 6-2 on the season with a 15-6 triumph over visiting Cincinnati Thursday afternoon on Rooney Field.
Meredith Dunn led the Dukes with four goals and an assist, folllowed by Katie Rekart and Cailin Colegrove with three goals apiece. Dunn has scored at least one goal in every game for the Dukes this season.
Amy Gladfelter had three gorund balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover while Liz Walker posted seven saves to pick up the win.
Cincinnati lit the scoreboard first with a goal a little over three minutes into the contest. The Dukes answered though with six straight goals before the Bearcats stopped the bleeding with their only other goal of the first half at the 7:04 mark. Rekart's goal at the 4:12 mark proved to be the eventual game-winner and Caitlin Prince's tally with 1:29 left, gave the Red and Blue an 8-2 halftime advantage.
Duquesne opened the second stanza with the first six scores to give DU its largest lead at 14-2 and cruised to the eventual 15-6 triumph.
The Dukes take to the road on Sunday, March 27 as they travel to Buffalo to face Canisius at 3:00 p.m.
