Duquesne's swimming team had a solid third day of competition at the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championship, climbing four spots in the standings from 10th to 6th.
Miriam McGeath set a school record, an Atlantic 10 record and turned in an NCAA B-cut time, by winning the 400-yard individual medley in 4:17.32.
Also scoring points in the 400 IM were Meghan Smith who placed fourth in 4:26.72, Erin Sykes who placed ninth in 4:30.17, Hannah Kondrotas who was 11th in 4:34.34 and Lori Yeaman who finished 16th in 4:44.27.
In the 100 butterfly, Kirstie Shumaker placed fifth in 56.69 and Brianna Dombrosky finished 15th in 58.09.
In 100 breaststroke action, Hilary Hocson placed seventh in 1:05.81 while Caitlin Zajko was 12th in 1:07.20.
In the 100 backstroke, Morgan Claycomb finished 10th in 57.77 and Briana Mangis placed 13th in 58.44.
The day concluded with the 400 medley relay team of Morgan Claycomb, Miriam McGeath, Kirstie Shumaker and Meghan Smith finishing third with a school record time of 3:49.44.
