Duquesne University freshman lacrosse player Haley Marafioti (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua Academy) has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the week ending Feb. 20.

Marafioti led the Dukes in goals (4) and points (5) in her first collegiate contest as the Dukes rolled to an 18-9 victory over St. Francis (Pa.) to open the 2011 campaign. The third goal by the freshman attacker proved to be the game-winner as she found the back of the net with just over four minutes remaining in the first half. Marafioti, a native of Canandaigua, N.Y., also picked up an assist while four of her five shots went on goal.

The Red and Blue return to action on Thursday, Feb. 24 as they face Boston College in Philadelphia in a 3:00 p.m. contest.
