Xavier at Duquesne SOLD OUT

Feb. 12, 2011

PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne University Department of Athletics has announced that Sunday's game against Xavier at CONSOL Energy Center is officially sold out. A crowd in excess of 10,000 is expected to watch the Dukes (16-6, 8-1) and Musketeers (17-6, 8-1) battle for outright first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

It is Duquesne's first home sellout since 5,358 were on hand for DU's 72-68 win over No. 9 (AP) Xavier on Feb. 7, 2009 at Palumbo Center. The last time Duquesne played a home game in front of 10,000 fans against an opponent other than cross-town rival Pitt was on Feb. 23, 1975 when 10,042 watched the Dukes take on No. 3 (AP) Maryland at Pittsburgh's then-Civic Arena.

Duquesne has two home games remaining - both at the on-campus Palumbo Center. DU hosts Rhode Island on Wednesday, Feb. 23 and St. Bonaventure for Senior Day on Wednesday, Mar. 2. Both games tip at 7:00 p.m. For tickets for the remaining home games, which start as low as $9, may be purchased by calling 412-232-DUKE (3853).
