• Duquesne, coming off its first road win of the season - 75-64 at George Mason on Dec. 21 - returns from Christmas break to host Bowling Green on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 7:00 p.m. ... the Falcons are coming off their first road win of the season as well - 61-53 at Florida International on Dec. 22.

• DU head coach Ron Everhart shook up the starting lineup prior to George Mason game as sophomore Jerry Jones and freshmen Kadeem Pantophlet and Mamadou Datt all made their first career starts ... they were joined by sophomore T.J. McConnell, who has started every game this season and sophomore Mike Talley, who made his first start of 2011-12 ... the Dukes jumped out to a 13-10 lead on the way to ending GMU's Patriot Center win streak at 18 games ... the 18 consecutive wins were tied for the 10th-longest home win streak in the country.

• Duquesne leads the series that dates back to Dec. 15, 1947, 16-9 ... DU is 3-0 against the Falcons under Ron Everhart and 9-2 all-time at home vs. BGSU.

• DU owns three wins over teams that made NCAA Tournament apperances last season: 81-76 vs. Akron at Valparaiso, Ind., 66-59 over Penn State at CONSOL Energy Center and 75-64 at George Mason ... in all, eight of DU's first 12 opponents made a post-season appearance last year: Arizona (L), Akron (W), Pitt (L), Penn State (W) and George Mason (W) all played in the NCAA tournament while Valparaiso (L), Tennessee Tech (W) and Western Michigan (L) all appeared in the College Insider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT).

• Two of DU's five losses have come to ranked teams: 67-59 at No. 16 (AP) Arizona and 80-69 to No. 17 (AP) Pitt at CONSOL Energy Center (neutral-site).

• DU's next game will be on Sat., Dec. 31 at 4:00 p.m. vs. Houston Baptist at Palumbo Center. It will be the regular-season non-conference finale for the Dukes. The men's game will be preceded by the DU women against Robert Morris at 1:00 p.m.

MASON LEFTOVERS: Notes from Duquesne's 75-64 win at George Mason on Dec. 21 ... B.J. Monteiro (15), Eric Evans (11) and Sean Johnson (11) had double-digit starting streaks snapped as head coach Ron Everhart started in lineup of three sophomores (T.J. McConnell, Mike Talley & Jerry Jones) and two true freshmen (Mamadou Datt & Kadeem Pantophlet) ... Datt set career highs for points (8) and rebounds (9) in a career-best 29 minutes ... Datt, who hadn't scored more than two points in a game, went 4-of-8 from the field with three dunks ... Duquesne led from the 12:56 mark of the first half on ... DU's largest lead was 15 with just under five minutes left in the first half ... Duquesne outrebounded George Mason 32-28 ... it was just the third time this season the Dukes outrebounded their opponent (DU is 3-0 in those games) ... B.J. Monteiro recorded a career-high four steals ... DU finished with 12 thefts in forcing 22 Mason turnovers ... the Dukes were a season-best 50 percent from the 3-point arc (8-of-16) ... Sean Johnson (team-high 14 points) led the way going 3-of-4 from the arc.

THE SERIES: This is the 26th meeting between Duquesne and Bowling Green ... it also concludes the second home-and-home series between the two since 2007-08 ... the Dukes swept the previous series with a 96-78 win at BGSU on Jan. 2, 2008 followed by a 76-65 Palumbo Center win on Dec. 31, 2008 ... DU took the first of two in the current series, 90-54 at Bowling Green last Nov. 22 ... B.J. Monteiro came off the bench to lead five players in double figures with a game-high 21 points and T.J. McConnell, playing in just his third college game, added 10 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in the 36-point win ... the Dukes held the Falcons to 12 field goals in posting the largest margin of victory in a road game since 1973 ... Duquesne holds a 16-9 edge in the series that began on Dec. 15, 1947 ... in games played at Pittsburgh, the Dukes lead 9-2 ... the two teams met every year from 1951-52 through 1962-63 (15 total games) ... the two also played home-and-home series' in 1948-49, 1979-80 and 2001-02 ... the 2000-01 meeting was the first since Dec. 28, 1984 (first round of the Rochester Classic) ... Bowling Green returns eight players who started at least nine games for last year's 14-19 team ... senior forward Scott Thomas was named second team all-district by the NABC ... Thomas was the only player in the MAC to rank in the top 10 in the league in both rebounding (6.7 per game) and assists (3.5 per game) ... he also ranked third in the conference in steals and was second on the team in scoring (11.2 ppg.) ... BGSU went 2-1 in an August Canadian tour ... the Falcons split with the same A-Game Hoops team that split with Duquesne (W, 91-87 & L, 77-63) ... BGSU also defeated the same Phase 1 Elite squad that the Dukes defeated twice (80-64).

QUICK HITS: Senior B.J. Monteiro enters the BGSU game needing 31 points to become the 35th member of the Duquesne 1,000-point club ... Monteiro, who shot .376 as a freshman, .465 as a sophomore and .464 as a junior, is shooting .477 through 12 games ... Monteiro, who entered the season a .502 career free throw shooter, is 26-of-46 from the line (.565) this year ... has scored in double digits 49 times in 105 career games ... has started 72 times ... scored a season-high 24 points vs. UDC ... pulled down a season-best nine boards vs. Penn State ... has seven steals in his past two games including a career-high four at George Mason on Dec.21 ... sophomore guard T.J.
