PITTSBURGH - Duquesne University head men's basketball coach Ron Everhart announced today that assistant coach Scott Rigot has resigned.
Rigot, who just finished his second season at Duquesne, came to the Bluff after spending five seasons on Tubby Smith's staff at Kentucky from 2003-07.
"Scott has left Duquesne to explore other opportunities in basketball," said Everhart. "I want to thank him for his loyalty and contributions to our program over the past two years. Scott and I have a long history together and I know the friendship we've developed will continue. I wish him and his family the best in whatever direction he chooses."
In related news, Everhart announced that sophomore guard Chase Robinson (Huntsville, Ala./Lee) has transferred. The 6-2, 190 pound Robinson played in 11 games in each of his two seasons at Duquesne. He averaged 0.9 points for is career.
"Chase asked for his release at the end of spring semester and we granted it," said Everhart. "Chase is a quality person who never gave us anything less than his best effort," said Everhart. "He comes from a great family and we hope to help him find a school where he can better utilize his skills."
