NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Six members of the Duquesne lacrosse team received Atlantic 10 All-Conference in a voting conducted among the Conference's head coaches.
Senior Meghan Frederick, who finished tied for first in assists (22) and was second overall points (62) in the A-10, was named First-Team All-Conference for the second consecutive season.
Redshirt sophomore Katie Rekart, whose 50 goals was second best in the league and Sara Beckstead who was second with 140 saves were named Second-Team All-Conference.
The Dukes led the league in Rookie-Team All-Conference selections with Aubrey Green (24 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers), Casey Denk (9 goals, 1 assist) and Riley Schamburg (9 goals, 1 assist) representing Duquesne.
DU had a pair on the Academic All-Conference team in Janna Faulkner and Kat McNish. Faulkner makes her third consecutive appearance in the squad. The senior has a cumulative GPA of 3.93. McNish, the 2008 A-10 Student-Athlete of the Year, makes her second appearance on the team. Duquesne's all-time assist leader finished her degree in education last year and is pursuing her master's degree in reading and language arts with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
