NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Duquesne senior attack Meghan Frederick (Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) was named Atlantic 10 Lacrosse Player of the Week after her 17-point performance in the Dukes' two games last week.
Frederick recorded a career-high 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) in DU's 12-10 victory over Massachusetts on Friday. She followed the UMass game with a game-high five goals and two assists versus Temple on Sunday.
This is Frederick's third A-10 weekly honor - she was rookie of the week on April 7, 2007 and co-player of the week on April 20, 2009.
This also marks the first time since Duquesne joined the Atlantic 10 in 1999, the Dukes have won back-to-back player of the week awards. Katie Rekart was the recipient last week.
This weekend, Duquesne (7-8, 2-3 A-10) finish the regular season with matches against Richmond on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and George Washington at 1:00 p.m.
