Volleyball Falls to Saint Louis 3-1 Palko records 23 digs

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Saint Louis swept the season series from the Duquesne volleyball team after its 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 26-24) win on Friday night.

The Dukes fall to 20-8, 8-4 A-10 as they complete their road schedule for the 2010 season.

Three DU players recorded double-doubles - Sarah Svorinic (45 assists, 17 digs), Sara Scheirman (19 kills, 14 digs) and Allison Foschia (11 kills, 11 digs). Reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Liz Homan added 14 kills and Amy Palko recorded 23 digs.

After dropping the first two sets, a Scheirman kill at 24-23 of the third set gave the Dukes life heading into the fourth set.

Tied at 24-24, SLU took advantage of a Nicole Wright error followed by a Andrea Beaty kill to win the set 26-24 and the match 3-1.

The Dukes will finished their regular season schedule with three home matches - Nov. 7 versus George Washington, Nov. 12 against La Salle and Nov. 14 versus Charlotte.
