Duquesne University freshman Meghan Smith (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 14.

Smith captured two individual second place finishes in Duquesne's 116-89 loss to visiting Akron on Nov. 12. She placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.33 and was also second in the 100 butterfly in 59.37. In addition, she helped the 400 medley relay team take first place in a Duquesne season best time of 3:58.44.

The Red and Blue return to action on Saturday, Nov. 20 as they host Colgate at 1:00 p.m. at Towers Pool.
