PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne women's cross country team commenced the 2009 season by defeating all seven of their opponents Saturday morning at the Schenley Park Oval.

The Dukes were led by Katie Kelly and Meg Ecker who placed second and third overall with times of 18:46 and 18:59 respectively.

Emily Ballantyne (19:10), Bethany Walker (19:10) and Sara Cimino (19:16) finished back-to-back-back in six, seventh and eight place. Emma Rybczynski (19:27)was 11th and Danielle Werley (19:29) was 13th. Carly Brickett (19:49), Colleen Gilmore (19:52) and Megan Van Houten (19:55) placed 15th, 16th and 17th. Alison Myers (21:11) and Laura Vehlies (21:40) were 37th and 47th overall.

Duquesne returns to Schenley Park on Sept. 19 when they take on Bucknell. Race time is 9:00 a.m.
