Team USA Advances to World Cup Finals

PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Duquesne assistant coach Gina Oliver and team USA have advanced to their eighth Women's Lacrosse World Cup finals. Americans easily defeated England 20-3 in the semifinals on Thursday and confirmed their position of the hottest candidate for the gold medal. The US will face off against Australia in a rematch of the last World Cup finals on Saturday.

The Americans jumped out to an early lead - 6-0 after only six minutes. They dominated on the field and were not even affected by the one and a half hour long storm break at all.

USA led 15-2 at halftime and added another five goals in the second half, but took the ball out of their net only once.

Sarah Albrecht (Northwestern) helped her team by four goals and Caroline Cryer (Duke), Katie Rowan (Syracuse) and Kristen Kjellman (Northwestern) added a hat-tricks.
