Two Dukes Cleared to Transfer

May 12, 2009

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne University head basketball coach Ron Everhart announced today that forwards Shawntez Patterson (Detroit, Mich./Northwestern) and Aleksandar Milovic (Cetinje, Montenegro/Gymnasium) have been released from their scholarships clearing their way to transfer.

"I met with Shawntez and Aleks individually and in both cases it was agreed that it would be best to pursue other opportunities," said Everhart. "We will do whatever we can to help them find a place where they can continue their education and their basketball careers."

Patterson, a 6-7 freshman from Detroit Northwestern High played in five games with a season high of two minutes each at Robert Morris and at St. Bonaventure.

Milovic saw action in eight games in 2008-09. The 6-7 freshman played a season-high 19 minutes at Pitt when injuries sidelined fellow forwards David Theis and Rodrigo Peggau. He scored his lone field goal and had three of his five rebounds in the season opener versus High Point.
