Duquesne University freshman swimmer Caitlin Zajko (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week for the week ending Dec. 6.

Zajko broke two school records and collected a gold, silver and bronze medal at the Akron Invitational, Dec. 4-6. She finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a meet and school record time of 2:19.20, placed second in the 200-yard individual medley with a Duquesne season-best time of 2:07.84 and captured third place in the 100-yard breaststroke in a school record time of 1:05.75 as the Dukes finished fifth of 13 teams.

The Red and Blue will not compete until Jan. 16 when they travel to Cleveland State, though they will spend 10 days training at Pompano Beach, Fla. during Christmas break.
