LEXINGTON - The Duquesne volleyball team has been honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association with the 2007-08 AVCA Team Academic Award.

The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year honors volleyball teams that are successful in the classroom. Nominees include teams that have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale) during the full academic year.

This is the fifth time the volleyball team has been awarded. The Dukes previously were honored in 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005.
