LEWISBURG - For the second consecutive week, the Duquesne women's track and field team traveled to Bucknell University. This past weekend, the Dukes competed in the Bucknell Team Challenge. DU finished seventh in the 20-event meet with a total of 11 points.
Erica Moody led the Dukes with eight points after her second place finish in Section 3 in the 400m. Moody's crossed in 56.67.
Daniela Siciliano, Corienne Free and Sydney Schwab earned DU one point each. Siciliano jumped 10-6 in the pole vault, which was tied for sixth place. Free's throw in the discus of 134-2 was also sixth best. Sydney Schwab also finished in sixth place in the javelin with a throw of 117-4.
In the jumps, Sierra Larsuel just missed earning a point after her seventh place finish in the long jump (17-8). Christine Swanson finished sixth in her triple jump flight (33-4) following by Christine Murawski in seventh place (33-1.25). Sarah Cappo finished with a distance of 4-11 in the high jump.
Free (39-6) and Arin Whitman (37-0.5) finished first and fourth respectively in the Flight 1 of the shot put. Whitman's distance of 127-4 in the discus was eight in her flight. Free placed fifth in her flight in the hammer throw with a distance of 126-3.
Larsuel (13.12) and Ashley Earnest (27.81) both finished sixth in their sections in the 100m and 200m.
Amanda Collins placed fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:07.51 and Diane Durkin was third in her section in the 400m dash crossing in 1:04.24.
Kathleen Parker (2:16.69) and Charlene Garth (2:17.14) finished first and second in Section 2 of the 800m while Alison Meyers were seventh in Section 1 crossing in 2:35.48.
The next meet is the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. The oldest and largest track and field event in the United States, the Penn Relays attracts over 15,000 people every year.
