PITTSBURGH -- Duquesne University freshman guard/forward Bill Clark (Redondo Beach, Calif./Worcester (Mass.) Academy) has been named Atlantic 10 co-Rookie of the Week for his performance in Duquesne's three games last week.
The 6-5, 205-pound Clark came off the bench to average 11.6 ppg. in games at Charlotte, at Temple and versus Saint Louis. Clark scored 14 in 24 minutes at Charlotte and 13 in 20 minutes at Temple. He shot .500 from the field, including 6-of-12 from the 3-point arc.
This is the first Rookie of the Week honor for Clark, whose teammate Damian Saunders has been named Rookie of the Week three times in 2007-08. It is just the third time in school history that DU has had two different Rookies of the Week in the same season.
Clark is averaging 8.1 points per game for the Dukes (17-12, 7-9) who open play at the Atlantic 10 Championship at 6:30 on Wednesday versus La Salle (14-16, 8-8). Clark leads the team in 3-point makes and attempts (40-of-127).
