Results
The Duquesne University women's swimming team won the 200-yard freestyle relay and had two swimmers collect silver medals on day two of the Atlantic 10 Championship.
Senior Melissa Johnson placed second in the 200 IM, setting a school-record with an NCCA B-Cut time of 2:03.90. Junior Katrina Streiner also finished second on the evening with a time of 23.66 in the 50-yard freestyle.
Johnson, senior Lauren Stephens, junior Christina Sherrard and Streiner combined for the gold in the relay while five other Dukes also scored points for the Red and Blue.
Sophomore Anne Hayles and freshman Angela Majkut finished ninth and 15th respectively in the 500-yard freestyle, freshman Kirstie Shumaker placed eighth in the 200 IM and junior Christina Sherrard and senior Lauren Stephens came in 10th and 14th in the 50 free.
Day three of four will see the Dukes competing in two relays and four individual events. Preliminaries are at 10:30 am and finals are at 6:30 pm.
