PITTSBURGH - Duquesne University assistant lacrosse coach Courtney Tamasitis has resigned to take the head coaching position at Seton Hill College.
"My four years of playing lacrosse and working as an assistant at Duquesne has prepared me for the position I have taken at Seton Hill," said Tamasitis. "I am excited that I was given this opportunity and it will be a great experience to start my career after college."
One of the most decorated student-athletes in Duquesne lacrosse history, Tamasitis as been on the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference and Atlantic 10 Honorable Mention teams as well as the Verizon All -District 2 team. She has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and has been a member of the Director of Athletics and Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Rolls. She also was selected to participate in the 2007 North-South Senior All-Star game which showcases the nation's top seniors.
Her 93 career-goals currently rank her ninth all time in Dukes history and 25 assists are 10th best. She recorded 118 career-points which ranks 10th all-time. Tamasitis is also tied for second in Dukes history with 68 games played and her 66 career starts are fifth most all-time.
