Jan. 19, 2008

Results

Duquesne's women's swiming team lost its home season finale to Atlantic 10 foe Xavier, 144-118 Saturday afternoon at Towers Pool.

The Dukes opened the day with a win in the 400 medley relay and a victory in the 200 freestyle to take a 30-25 advantage after three races. However, the Musketeers would win eight of the next nine races to put the decision out of reach.

Senior Melissa Johsnon helped the Red and Blue win the 400 medley relay as well as set a Towers Pool record in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:36.36. She also won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:54.29 and the 100 free in 52.64.

Joining Johnson in the pool record relay were fellow senior Lauren Stephens and juniors Christina Sherrard and Katrina Streiner. Also winning an individual race was freshman Elizabeth Berk who swam a 4:41.29 in the 400 IM.

The Red and Blue return to the water on Saturday, Jan, 26 as they travel to La Salle for a noon meet.
