FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Duquesne volleyball team fell to High Point 3-2 in the opening round of the 2007 Fiesta Bowl Tournament hosted by Northern Arizona University.
The Dukes (5-3) dropped their second straight match by the scores of 25-30, 30-21, 33-31, 26-30, 15-8.
Duquesne's Jenni Gross led all players with 26 kills. Nicole Wright continued her excellent rookie campaign as she finished the contest with 19 kills. Dana McLaughlin, Jessica Artman and Kristen Hammergren also registered double-digits kills with 15, 10 and 11 respectively.
Gross finished the match with six blocks while Kristin Garnett had a match-high 79 assists. McLaughlin led the Dukes with 18 digs followed by Wright with 17, Am Palko with 15 and Katie Goss with 14.
The Dukes have two games Saturday with Louisiana-Lafayette at noon and host Northern Arizona at 9:00 p.m. Live stats will be available by clicking here.
