Duquesne University swimmers senior Melissa Johnson and freshman Erin Sykes have been named Atlantic 10 Performer and Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 4.
Johnson won three individual events on Nov. 3 as the Dukes earned a 138-124 victory over visiting Bucknell. She registered season-best times in the 100-yard freestyle (52.73), the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.49) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:07.05) versus the Bison and also won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:10.27 in the Dukes' 104-96 win over St. Francis (Pa.) on Nov. 1.
Sykes captured first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.83) and 1,000-yard freestyle (10:27.19) versus Bucknell and won the 1,650-yard freestyle versus St. Francis.
The Red and Blue return to action on Saturday, Nov. 10 as they travel to Clarion for a 1:00 pm meet.
