Duquesne University senior cross country runner Samantha Howard (Moon Township, Pa./Moon) has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week for the week ending Sept. 30.

Howard finished first for the Dukes and 20th overall in Friday's 317-runner Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University. She ran a Duquesne record 21:16 over the six kilometer course as the Dukes placed 15th of 47 teams at the event.

The Red and Blue return to action on Saturday, Oct. 14 as they compete in the NCAA Pre-Nationals at Terre Haute, Ind.
