Duquesne's Now 1-1 at James Madison Tourney

Harrisonburg, Va. - In Friday night's matchup between the Dukes of Pittsburgh and the Dukes of James Madison, the host squad grabbed a 3-0 victory over visiting Duquesne. Both teams won their opening game of the 2006 Days Inn Volleyball Invitational at JMU's Sinclair Gymnasium. The game scores were 32-30, 30-27, and 30-15.

Senior Amanda Haeg posted a double-double with 10 kills and 17 digs. Junior Jenni Gross again led DU's offense with 12 kills while junior Kristin Garnett set up 29 points. Sophomore Laura Kastein also had 17 digs for the Red and Blue.

Duquesne, which won their tournament opener, 3-1, over Rutgers, is now 1-1. JMU improved to 2-0; they also shut out Canisius, 3-0, earlier Friday.

The Dukes take on Canisius (1-1) at 9:00 a.m. and UNC-Asheville (0-2) at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006, in the final day of this event.
