Harrisonburg, Va. -- The Duquesne volleyball team evened its record to 2-2 on the season with a 3-2 victory over UNC-Ashville in their final match of the JMU Invitational. Freshman setter Chelsea Tillotson collected 56 assists to lead the offense while senior Amanda Haeg recorded 26 kills and 21 digs.
Freshman Jessica Artman had 15 digs and 11 kills for the Red & Blue and Jenni Gross had a team-best six blocks while adding 13 kills. Libero Laura Kastein recorded 25 digs in the win. Gross was named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Dukes suffered a 30-12 loss in game one and took game two 30-20 and game three 30-27. A 30-28 loss put the Dukes into a best-of-five situation. Duquesne won 15-13 in the fifth and final contest, which was capped by the match-winning block by Artman.
Jenni Gross was named to the seven-member all-tournament team and the Dukes finished third winning the tie-breaker with Rutgers.
Duquesne returns to play Sept. 1 hosting the Duquesne / Robert Morris Omni William Penn Invitational.
