Duquesne's Amanda Haeg (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) is one of nine Division I student-athletes competing overseas with USA Athletes International, Inc. The outside hitter will be competing in the D.K.V tournament in Holland beginning Friday, June 9. Competition in the round robin format concludes Saturday, June 10 with finals.
Haeg, who will be a senior for the 2006 slate, led the Dukes last season with 3.43 kills per games starting 17 of her 28 matches. She added 1.12 digs and .44 blocks per game.
Her coach is Sherry Dunbar, who leads the College of Charleston volleyball program. Joining Haeg on the roster is Anna Berger (University of San Francisco), Albany's Blair Buchanan and Ashlee Reed, Alesix Lowes and Marie Dobrenz (College of Charleston), Jenna Dykstra from Davison, Dianna Thomas (Appalachian State) and University of Central Florida's Jana Mitchell.
