Katrina Streiner Takes Gold in the 50-Yard Freestyle

Results

Freshman Katrina Streiner was crowned an Atlantic 10 champion after she captured first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.87 at the Atlantic 10 Championship. Streiner and the 200 freestyle relay team helped the Dukes move into sixth place in the overall standings after two days. DU captured third place in the relay with a school record time of 1:36.04.

Also scoring team points for the Dukes were junior Liz Yager who finished 10th in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:05.72 and senior Amy Gersbach who placed 16th in the 500 in 5:16.48. Senior Sarah Breisinger was 16th in the 200 individual medley in 2:13.37 while freshman Christina Sherrard (10th), sophomore Lauren Stephens (12th) and senior Liz Barba (16th) all scored in the 50 free.
