Freshman forward Robert Mitchell (Brooklyn, N.Y./Notre Dame (Mass.) Prep) has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after averaging 19.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in Duquesne's three games this past week.

The 6-6 Mitchell, who posted his first career double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds in an overtime loss to Northern Illinois on Nov. 20, scored 10 against Oakland on the 22nd before adding 23 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots at Northern Illinois on Nov. 25. For the week, Mitchell shot 52.3 percent from the field, including 44.4 percent (4-of-9) from the 3-point arc and 87.5 percent (7-of-8) from the foul line.

Mitchell, who has started four of Duquesne's (2-3) first five games, is the only DU player to score in double digits in all five games. He leads the team with a 16.8 points per game scoring average.

Mitchell is the first Duquesne player to be named Rookie of the Week since sophomore Aaron Jackson was honored on January 29 of last season.

Duquesne, which finished a four-games-in-eight-days stretch on Saturday, returns to action at Robert Morris on Saturday, Dec. 2.
