Duquesne University sophomore cross country runner Samantha Howard (Moon Township, Pa./Moon) has been named the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week for the week ending Sept. 4. Howard receives the award after finishing first in the 64 runner field at the Duquesne Duals on Saturday.

Howard ran the five-kilometer course in 18:42 as the Dukes defeated St. Bonaventure, Carnegie Mellon and Penn State Altoona, while falling to Pitt. Howard finished 13 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor.

The Red and Blue return to action on Friday, Sept. 16 as they travel to Notre Dame for the National Catholic Championships.
