Duquesne-Fordham Postgame Notes

Sept. 10, 2005

Recap | Box Score | Quotes

  • Duquesne now has more wins versus the Patriot League (9) than any other current I-AA Mid-Major school ... all nine DU wins have come in the last seven seasons (since 1999)
  • Redshirt freshman Scott Knapp (Pittsburgh, Pa./Perry Traditional Academy) followed his school freshman record-setting 365 yard passing performance last week vs. Robert Morris by connecting on an economical 12-of-23 passes for 265 yards including touchdown passes of 65 (to Bruce Hocker) and 66 yards (to Conrad Carter) ... Knapp did not throw an interception
  • Freshman Conrad Carter (Clinton, Md./Archbishop Carroll), whose two catches and 81 yards were both career highs, recorded his first career touchdown on the 66-yarder
  • Sophomore Bruce Hocker (Upper Marlboro, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) was on his way to another big game with three catches for 98 yards with just under nine minutes left in the second quarter when he injured his shoulder and was forced to leave the game following a 28-yard reception ... Hocker had eight catches for 163 yards in the season opener vs. Robert Morris
  • Josh Antinopoulos (Monaca, Pa./Monaca), who had three sacks in the opener vs. Robert Morris, added two more against Fordham to give him 20 for his career ... Antinopoulos now ranks third on DU's career sack list behind John Wojciechowski (24.0 from 1992-95) and Philip Polony (23.5 from 2000-03)
  • Antoine Bullock (Houston, Texas/Sugar Land Kempner) also recorded a pair of sacks, giving him 17.5 for his career, good for fourth on the all-time list
  • Junior Kyle Postell's (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) 62-yard interception return for a score was the third interception of his career ... it was also his first career defensive TD ... Postell scored five times while playing running back as a freshman in 2002
  • Sophomore defensive end Travis Decker (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) was credited with two sacks and a forced fumble in his first career start
  • Senior middle linebacker Harry Carter (Lanham, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) tied Bullock for game high with 11 tackes (7 solo) ... the 11 stops give him a total of 324 tackles for his career - good for fourth on DU's all-time list ... Carter also recovered a fumble and broke up a pass
