PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Carl Krauser had 23 points to lead visiting Pittsburgh to a 71-60 win over intra-city rival Duquesne on Wednesday night.
Playing against a team with no starters taller than 6-foot-7, 7-foot Aaron Gray added 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds for Pitt, which is 6-0 for the fourth season in a row.
Bryant McAllister had 18 points and five assists to lead the Dukes in both categories.
Duquesne (1-4) shot only 28 percent from the field in the first half and went a stretch of 9:59 with only one field goal, during which Pitt went on an 18-4 run.
Duquesne got as close as six in the second half after a McAllister 3-point play, but the Panthers immediately followed with an 8-0 run.
The Dukes shot only 35 percent from the field and made only four of 15 free throws.
Pitt, which was playing its first game away from its on-campus Petersen Events Center, improved to 43-31 in the all-time "City Game" series against its rival about two miles down Pittsburgh's Fifth Avenue. The Panthers have won 24 of the last 27, including five in a row.
Duquesne was playing its first game since learning it had lost junior forward Kieron Achara for the season. The preseason second-team all-Atlantic 10 conference team member will undergo surgery for a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
