DUQUESNE HEADS TO AKRON
Duquesne (0-2), coming off a 77-53 loss at Oakland (Mich.) on Saturday, will make the 110-mile trip west to face Akron (1-0) at 7:00 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, Nov. 30 (KQV-AM 1410 radio/www.redzonemedia.com). The Dukes are looking to snap a two-game season-opening losing streak against an Akron team that opened its season with a 67-62 home win over Youngstown State on Saturday.
DUQUESNE LATELY
- Duquesne has yet to be at full strength for a game this season
- Leading scorer Bryant McAllister missed the opener vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff while serving a suspension for an off-court incident last summer ... he scored a team-high 15 points in game two at Oakland
- Sophomore swingman Chauncey Duke, who led the Dukes in assists (5) and rebounds (6) and scored nine points in the season-opener vs. Pine Bluff, missed the game at Oakland to attend the funeral of his grandmother in Missouri ... he made the 12-hour drive back to Pittsburgh on Sunday
- Duquesne's opponents have made 20 more free throws than the Dukes have attempted (DU is 12-of-19 while opponents are 39-of-47 through two games)
- The Dukes have been whistled for 42 fouls to 25 for their opponents
- Duquesne is shooting 27.3% from the 3-point arc (9-of-33) and their opponents are just 8-of-41 (19.5%)
- Three of the last six meetings between Duquesne and Akron have been overtime affairs.

A FAMILIAR NAME
Akron is in its second season under head coach Keith Dambrot. Dambrot's father, Sid, helped Duquesne to a 70-15 record and three NIT and one NCAA appearance from 1952 through 1954.
