The Duquesne University women's cross country team is ranked 10th in the Mid-Atlantic Region in this week's Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association (WICCCA) poll. It is the first ranking for Duquesne this season.
Assistant cross country/track coach Ron LeVan guides the women's distance programs and has steadily increased the Dukes' success.
Duquesne opened the season hosting the Duquesne Duals where they went 4-1 falling only to West Virginia, which is ranked second in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Red & Blue took fourth at the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invitational Sept. 11 and captured the title of the Duquesne Invitational this past Friday.
The Dukes only other ranking came in the Oct. 12, 2003 release in which they stood 15th.
DU is back in action this Friday at the prestigious Notre Dame Invitational.
